Wear2Start president Heidi Hartman, left, accepts a $250 cheque, along with donations of clothing and personal care items, from Sun Life family members, from left, Marc Bourdon, Daniel Carranza, Lukasz Deron, Tracey Hansen, Judy Pecknold, Ana Bjelica, Tim Heinrichs, Clara Yan and Moises Canillo.

Wear2Start is so fortunate to have the support of organizations like Sun Life Financial. The Victoria financial centre recently invited Wear2Start president Heidi Hartman to one of its meetings to speak about our organization. The Sun Life “family,” as they aptly describe themselves, quickly took up the W2S cause.

“We are very passionate about giving back to our community and supporting worthwhile causes,” said Tracey Hansen, Sun Life’s Victoria Financial Centre manager.

In just a couple of weeks, not only did the Sun Life family collect personal care products for our current Beyond the Start blue bag campaign, they also collected clothing for our boutique – and they made a financial contribution of $250. Now that’s family support!

If you’re interested in helping with our Beyond the Start blue bag campaign, members of the Wear2Start Society will be collecting donations at Hillside Centre, near the customer service desk, on Saturday, April 28, from 9:30 am 5:30 pm or Sunday, April 29, from 11 am to 5:30 pm. The campaign aims to help fill the bags of personal care items that we provide to clients. We’re collecting new regular- or travel-sized items, including:

  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Facecloths
  • Soaps/shower gels
  • Toletries/Makeup bags
  • Deodorant
  • Q-Tips
  • Brushes/Combs
  • Lotion
  • Shower Caps
  • Makeup remover/make up cloths
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
  • Tampons/Sanitary Napkins
  • Disposable razors

Please note that we cannot accept items that have been opened or used in any way.
Thanks! We appreciate your support.
