Suds ‘n Duds raises cash with glasses raised

VICTORIA –   Suds ‘n Duds, a fundraiser by the Wear2Start Society and in aid of women in need who require a work wardrobe, raised close to $5,000 for the cause.

Hosted at the Vancouver Island Brewery on Wednesday, Oct. 21, a clapping and laughing crowd cheered while tasting craft beers and canapes as models from Sidney’s Marmalade Tart Boutique showed off the newest fall fashions.

The Wear2Start Society is a non-profit organization and registered charity that helps women, who have completed a job training program, make their best impressions in job interviews and the workplace by providing them with a wardrobe. Over the years it has assisted thousands of women in need gain confidence and increased chances of employment through a more polished appearance.

Wear2Start relies on fundraising and donations of gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories suitable for the workplace. For information on how to donate clothing or funds, please see the website https://wear2start.com/.

Generous partners for the event were Vancouver Island Brewery, Marmalade Tart Boutique, and Culinarious Catering. Success was also made possible from the generous raffle and silent auction contributions from many businesses, agencies, and individuals.
